Do You Have Peripheral Neuropathy?
Peripheral neuropathy occurs when the sensory, motor and autonomic function or peripheral nerves are affected. Symptoms of peripheral neuropathy include pain, burning, loss of sensation and weakness. The most common cause of peripheral neuropathy is diabetes mellitus. Peripheral neuropathy can also result from other causes including traumatic injuries, infections, exposure to toxins, etc.
Physical Therapy can play a major role in early detection of peripheral neuropathy which can help patients improve and maintain function.
